Natixis CIB wins 2 Awards from HKQAA for its Green & Sustainable commitments

Natixis CIB received two awards from the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA), as part of their Hong Kong Green and Sustainable Finance Awards 2021 ceremony, which was held at the HKQAA Symposium for Sustainable Finance and Climate Resilience, on December 3.

Natixis CIB won the “Outstanding Award for Green and Sustainable Loan Structuring Advisor (Raw Materials Industry) - Visionary Sustainability linked Loan Performance Metric”, for its work with Risun Group* on its USD 129m 2-year sustainability-linked loan (“SLL”) facility, which had 3 sustainability KPI’s embedded: Greenhouse gas emissions, Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) emissions, and Particulate emissions.
As the originator and structurer, Natixis acted as Mandated Lead Arranger, Global Coordinator, Sustainability Coordinator, Documentation Agent and Facility Agent on this 1st SLL for Natixis in China closed in Sept-21, as a joint effort from Global Trade (CCSF), the Green & Sustainable Hub and Loan Syndication in APAC. This SLL is certified and monitored by HKQAA which is an active ESG agency in Hong Kong.

As a recognition for its continued green & sustainability efforts (including this SLL), Risun Group won the “Outstanding award for Green & Sustainable Loan issuer (raw materials Industry)" from HKQAA.

At the same time, Natixis’ Head of the Green & Sustainable Hub, Orith Azoulay, was recognized by the HKQAA with a Leadership Award for Green and Sustainable Finance Development, together with Risun Group’s Chairman Mr. Yang Xuegang.

The HKQAA Hong Kong Green and Sustainable Finance Awards recognise the efforts and contributions of organisations, leaders and strategists to promoting the issuance of green and sustainable financial instruments in Hong Kong.
