IJAsia 2019


Now in its fifth year, IJAsia 2019 Conference in Singapore is a forum for government officials, developers, project sponsors, financiers, investors, law firms, advisors and service providers in Asia Pacific. This year, the focus was “What’s next for energy and infrastructure finance in the region”.

Jonathan Tse, Executive Director, Infrastructure, Asia Pacific, spoke on a panel looking at the latest developments in renewable energy in Asia. The panelists debated a variety of topics, including the energy mix outlook for Asia, and the possibilities for renewables.

They discussed the evolution in the types of investors in renewable projects in Asia Pacific, and trends in financing such projects in the region going forward. They also debated the outlook for tariff schemes in Asia Pacific, the best PPAs framework for the future, and deliberated the risks and uncertainties for developers, investors, and financiers.

Finally, the panelists discussed their views of which countries will be the most active in terms of renewables activity in the next few years.

Through an insightful and informed discussion, the panelists highlighted the incredible pace of development in the renewable and green energy industry in Asia over the past several years and looking ahead.
