Blankenburg connection - Greenfield road project in Netherlands

Natixis acted as Bookrunner, Mandated Lead Arranger and Hedge Provider along with a few other MLAs for the c. €900 million financing of the largest PPP project awarded in the Netherlands to date.

The Blankenburg tunnel will improve road links between Rotterdam and its port and will be owned by DEME, Macquarie and Ballast Nedam. The Project comprises construction of a 4.2km greenfield road project, including a immersed tunnel (900m length) and a land tunnel (500m length) linking the existing A15 and A20 roads west of Rotterdam.

Natixis brought in an institutional investor from its Infrastructure Debt Platform for a significant amount. The total senior funding requirement for the Project of c. €900 million brings together commercial floating rate lenders, fixed rate institutional lenders and the EIB.
